Trend Guide Autumn/Winter 2017

  • Blog Post

For the majority of people, September is nothing more than the end of the summer. We find ourselves back at work with the solemn feeling that winter is creeping upon us. However, for the fashion world it is the start of an exciting new season. Top designers lay down the rules of the must have items and trends for autumn/winter. Starting off in New York followed by London, Milan and ending in Paris.

Regardless of whether you can afford what’s on the runway, its always exciting to see what and how designers have created new trends. You’ll find all the high street shops copying the runway, so if you’ve already had a sneaky peak at just what’s hitting the catwalk, you can find similar, affordable items on the High Street.

We saw in the August shows the looks that are in stores now – Two of the biggest trends this autumn/winter are Florals and checks.             See my favourite looks from the shows:

Isabel Marant                  Marc Jacobs              Markus Lupfer

 .

Zimmerman                       Ralph Lauren                 Topshop

So whats in store now…

Below are outfits that will give you a cool edge for Autumn/Winter, and where best to shop.

Below is a great look for a smart/casual lunch party which could lead into the evening. This dress can be worn with an oversized, chunky knit for winter and without for summer. Similarly, you could start the outfit with a pair of boots with a change of heals in your bag for the evening. When buying clothes it makes more sense to buy items which you can wear fro more than one season.

There are some lovely over sized coats in the stores for the winter and lots of different ones to choose from, but a top priority for autumn/winter is to invest in a good quality coat. As not only will it keep you extra warm, it will also last so much longer. Look out for my next blog which will feature a guide in finding your best winter coat!

These checked trousers are gorgeous and perfect to wear with either a shirt or polo neck. The high waist is slimming for women who have an hourglass shape, as well as the tie in the middle is flattering for women who are have a little tummy.

This is one of my favourite looks as I love the boldness of the green and red. The outfit all matches perfectly with the bag tying the outfit together. Don’t be afraid to wear a splash of bold colours – if in doubt use a colour splash for your accessories.
