A Weekend City Break – What to pack……..
- Blog Post
This unpredictable weather leaves us pretty bemused as to what to take with for that long awaited break. As the Easter weekend approaches, here are some ideas for your planned trip away with friends, family or your other half, as well as how to pack efficiently and make the most out of your space.
Make sure you pack both practically and lightly ensuring you have everything you need.
If possible take a ‘carry on’ case, I personally don’t find it that easy as I like choice, however the clever travellers amongst you will pack a small wheely case and will be on your way to your hotel before I’ve even left the airport!
If you’re a ‘carry on gal’ in order to save space, rolling clothes is a good way to go. It will prevent the clothes from creasing (if rolled neatly), so select carefully from your capsule wardrobe!
OUTFIT 1–
FRIDAY DAY (TRAVELLING):
Start with a light weight Mac that can be easily packed away when the sun comes out, or pulled out for that unexpected downfall. A hood is advisable and think about wearing it over sized so you can fit a jacket underneath. I always travel with a cosy scarf for that annoying air-conditioning or evening chilly spells.
This outfit is three in one; Practical, Comfortable and Fashionable. Travelling in a jersey fabric trouser is key to starting your trip void of creases and by adding this fresh, baby pink roll neck jumper gives a soft gentle, on trend colour and shape for this spring.
Wear a short sleeve white t-shirt under the sweater so you have a choice of t-shirt or sweater for when you arrive, weather depending.
After checking into your hotel or airbnb and are planning to go straight out for the day and if the jersey pants are too light, then keep a pair of light wash jeans at the top of your case to complete your look.
OUTFIT 2–
FRIDAY NIGHT:
For your first evening out let’s add a little glamour!
Heels and a mink coloured jersey (easy for packing) skirt are perfect, nude/camel/pink is everywhere this Spring. Adding a heel will smarten the outfit and also get an instant sexy, sophisticated look. However the length of walk and terrain to the resturant may suggest a more casual ankle boot, giving comfort and coolness. Adding a classic black Sandro bag keeps the evening feel and don’t forget accessories, they always take you to the next level.
OUTFIT 3–
SATURDAY DAY:
You now have two choices of bag with you, the one you travelled with, which has clever straps that changes into a back pack, or the one you wore for the evening. And with a choice of a cross body strap, it’s perfect for day too.
A denim jumpsuit is bang on trend and looks super cool with trainers or heeled boots. You can pair this with the trainers you travelled in or the boot option. Add the suede jacket and you’re good to go. Don’t forget your Mac and sun glasses !
OUTFIT 4 –
SATURDAY NIGHT:
Prints and embroidery are both big this Spring, so why not wear this gorgeous green polka dot midi dress, worn with the court shoes as before. Open out the scarf, making the scarf double width, so you have a shawl.
OUTFIT 5 –
SUNDAY DAY:
A day site seeing or relaxing over a long lunch in jeans and a cool sweatshirt gives it a real Sunday feel. Wear this beautiful casual shirt under the sweat and you’ve got layers for warmth or coolness. Again you have all the componants to make this a fab outfit and all in your ‘carry on’! Just change your shoes to trainers grab the scarf and your ready for your flight home.
HAVE FUN!
