With the sales at their peak and winter warmers flying off the racks, the high street are busy making way for the upcoming spring lines. The catwalks have done their stuff and we’ve all been given a sneak preview into what’s going to be hot in the coming months, rest assured that the high street are only moments behind them.
Shapes are going to remain simple in spring this year, but fabrics and prints are going to be bold. There’s going to be a distinct 60’s theme circling around the dressing rooms in March and April.
Chequered patterns are back and bigger than ever before. Look out for them in all shapes and sizes, colours and shades. Monochrome checks are going to be big, which are fabulous for every budget. Incredibly easy to wear and suitable for both office and dance floor, you’ll certainly want to get your hands on some!
If all-out chequered clothing is too much for you, you can still achieve the look with some accessories.
From the 60s to the 90s, low elegant pointy heels have taken us by storm by making an incredible reappearance on the runway. As a nice departure from the love hate relationship we have with our killer heels, these lower shoes are both forgiving on our feet and fantastically stylish. Pair them with a pencil skirt for professionalism or if you really want to embrace spring, try them with some Bermuda shorts.
Get an instant sharp look with a crisp white shirt. A perfect solution to those days when looking smart, stylish and sexy is the key. Whether worn with roughed up jeans or smart dark denims and a blazer or even a floaty skirt or Bermuda’s. The structured with the unstructured really works and has the benefit of making you look mouth-wateringly stylish!
White on white is also big for Spring. Mix lace with broderie anglais and sheer fabrics with textures. For a more modern approach, go for the shimmer and sparkle of sheen. Sheen trousers and dresses are super stylish and will reflect the spring sunlight, making you a dazzling success.
And as always, don’t forget your florals! They’re going to everywhere this spring but make sure that you stick to young and simple flower shapes.
